Description

Cancer occurs because cells develop mutations that confer a growth advantage. Different subpopulations within the tumor can possess different mutations, and new mutations occur as the cancer progresses. This can allow the tumor to develop resistance to chemotherapy and is a major therapeutic challenge. This book examines this quasi-evolutionary process involved and how work in both molecular and computational biology is shedding light on it.
